It seems there is finally some good news for the US manufacturing industry, at least the part that produces parts for the wind power industry. It seems, even though it is expected that renewable energy projects will suffer reductions due to the recession, there are companies right now who are quite keen on engaging domestic US manufacturers for the purposes of producing parts for the wind power industry.
Companies such as Vestas, Nordex AG and Siemens AG, all gathered at the Michigan Wind Energy Conference, said they are sill moving on with their initial plans to build their own US supply chains. The companies are making way for a number of US assembly factories because they expect wind energy demand to rise in the US in the coming years. Tighter credit conditions and lower oil prices are threatening growth of the wind industry, but the new US administration's focus is on renewable energy. Together with the economic stimulus plan, it is expected that the number of wind energy projects will increase, which in turn will guarantee business for wind turbine and part manufacturers.
