Enel Green Power has signed an agreement with Eurus Energy Europe, a subsidiary of its Japanese parent company (a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company and Toyota Tsusho Corporation), for development of wind power projects totalling in about 400 MW of wind power in Calabria, Italy. Of the total power, 100 MW is already at an advanced stage of development.

Enel Green Power is to acquire the rights to 50% of the wind power projects to be developed. This is a significant move that will help the development of renewable energies in the Calabria region, according to Enel Green Power, which has already installed a total of about 380 MW of wind power capacity in Italy, by the end of 2008. This is also a development that will strengthen Enel's position as the leading renewable energy supplier in Italy.

Enel Group is present in 16 countries in Europe and America, with total installed capacity of about 4.5 GW.
