The USD 1.46 billion wind power industrial project has officially been started in the construction phase on July 7. The new manufacture park is to be built in Tongyu County in the Jilin province, Northeast China.

Once completed, the industrial park will be mostly involved in manufacturing wind power equipment, with expectations of achieving an annual sales volume of about USD 1.5 billion, within 35 years from completion of construction.

Occupying an area of about 33 hectares, the facility will also be involved in wind turbine assembly and blade and tower part manufacturing.

According to the agreement between Sany Group and the local government, the project will be executed in phases. Initial stage investment will amount to USD 366 million, enough to establish a production capacity of about 400 MW within 2009. The capacity will be expanded to 600 MW in 2010, while the planned total sales volume of USD 1.5 billion is expected to be reached in 2013.
