As part of Toyota's national marketing effort to promote the launch of the 3rd generation Prius in 2010, the company has installed solar daisies which can easily provide resting space for about 10 persons, while also providing free WiFi access and electricity for charging mobile devices.
The solar flowers represent the Prius theme – "Harmony between Man, Nature, and Machine" – and being 18 feet tall they are not easy to miss. Apart from being useful they are also works of art, as these sculptures bring a little life to the streets.

Sit and enjoy.
Solar panels are embedded at the back of the petals, and on the base of the flower stem. The solar station represents a model of the solar roof installed on the new Prius, which will be used to supply energy for ventilating the car's interior when parked in the sun.
So far the flower sculptures have appeared in Boston, and are set to make their way to other major cities in the US.
