Clipper Wind released a trading statement which shone some light onto the company's plans for the current year. It plans to deliver a total of 300 wind turbines (750 MW capacity) by the end of the year, having already supplied 127 units so far. They've also increased cash from about USD 80 million in May, to about USD 105 million by the end of June.

What may be the most interesting news though is the company's announcement that its Britannia 10 MW wind turbine is continuing to advance with design completion scheduled by the end of 2009. Component testing is planned to start in 2010. Wind turbines of this size, if they prove economically viable, could easily push wind power to become more competitive on the market.
