EDF Energies Nouvelles announced the commissioning of the Castanet wind farm in the south of France. The wind farm has 13.8 MW of installed capacity, and uses wind turbines supplied by Enercon (Germany). EDF owns 11.5 MW of installed wind power capacity, while the remaining 2.3 MW was sold in December 2008, as part of its Development and Sale of Structured Assets business.
This is the sixth project completed by the company in France this year, further strengthening the company's position in the French wind power market. So far, EDF Energies Nouvelles has developed some 443 MW in France, of which 112 MW has been sold to third parties.
