First Wind has completed and officially opened the Milford Wind Corridor, the largest wind energy facility in the state of Utah, and one of the largest in the West. The wind farm has 203 MW of installed capacity. It features 58 Clipper Liberty 2.5 MW wind turbines, and 39 GE 1.5 MW units. The first phase of the project is capable of generating enough clean electricity to supply about 45,000 average US homes. The development of the first phase began back in November 2008.

First Wind is planning on expanding the wind farm in the future. Construction financing – USD 376 million – came from the Royal Bank of Scotland, which arranged loans from several banks. The Milford Wind Corridor is the first wind project permitted under the Bureau of Land Management's Wind Energy Programmatic Environmental Impact System for the Western United States.
