RWE Innogy has been granted permission by the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Hydraulic Engineering to develop the 300 MW Tromp wind farm. The first step is the installation of the meteorological mast by RWE in order to collect wind data.
It is assumed the wind farm will have 300 MW of installed capacity, and will be located about 75 km off the coast of Callanstoog in northern Holland. It will feature 59 wind turbines, installed in sea on gravity foundations with heights of 150 meters. Gravity construction is needed to ensure stability and safety of the facility. Construction could start in 2013 according to the present state of progress.
