Enel Green Power developing 1 Gw of wind projects in Mexico

Enel Green Power, a business unit of Enel Group, announced it has entered into a project development agreement, through its subsidiary Enel Latin America, with Energías Renovables, Térmica e Hidráulica de México (Enerthi). The agreement will bring a total of up to 1000 MW of wind energy to Mexico, spread out over numerous projects.

Enel Green Power will have exclusive access to wind power projects which are going to be developed by Enerthi, but also the right to acquire these projects once they have been fully authorized. The projects are to be located in the states of Baja California, Zacatecas and Oaxaca.

Each of the planned projects will have installed capacity between 60 and 200 MW. So far, Enel Group has been present in the country through 3 hydropower projects with a total of 52 MW of installed capacity. This wind energy project agreement will substantially increase the company's presence in Mexico.
