Helius Energy has recently got an approval to build a new 100 MW biomass power plant at Bristol Port, Avonmouth, UK.
David Kidney MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Energy and Climate Change commented: "We need to increase the amount of energy we get from renewable sources. This plant will generate enough electricity to power up to 200,000 homes, making a significant contribution to our CO2 emissions reduction and energy security goals."
Moreover, the local economy in the Avonmouth area will also benefit, with the plant creating up to 250 jobs during construction and approximately 40 full-time jobs when fully operational.
