Bilfinger Berger announced the company has been awarded two major contracts in the energy industry. One contract is for preventive service and maintenance on a thermal power plant in Poland. The second contract is for the construction of pressure tunnel plating for the pumped-storage hydropower project Reißeck II in Austria, awarded by Verbund Austria Hydro Power.

The steel pressure shaft is to have a 3.6 meter diameter, which channels water from a new storage reservoir and feeds water to the hydroturbines installed at the hydropower plant. The facility runs with about 560 meters of head, and has 430 MW of installed capacity.
