Vestas to deliver 74 MW of wind turbines to "important Chinese customer"

A "major" Chinese independent power producer placed an order with Vestas for a total of 74 MW of wind turbines. The ordered units are V90-2.0 MW models, and are most likely aimed for wind energy projects in the coastal region of the Shandong province, China.

Vestas stated that the company has already had a successful period of collaboration with this client in different areas of China, including Shandong. Along with the ordered wind turbines, Vestas is to provide transportation, installation and commissioning services, as well as its monitoring solution – VestasOnline Business SCADA. Additionally, the company is to provide service and maintenance for the installed turbines. The first batch is expected to be delivered in Q4 2010.
