GE and the Governor of Idaho officially marked the beginning of construction at the Idaho wind energy project, which will have a total of 183 MW of installed capacity. The Idaho wind project is comprised of 11 smaller wind farms, as we covered in June this year.

The project is to be completed by the end of 2010, employing about 175 people during construction. Once completed, the wind farm complex will be able to supply almost 40,000 average Idaho homes with clean electricity.
