Vestas to supply 40 MW of turbines to India

Vestas announced an order from CLP for 24 V82-1.65 MW units for the first phase of the Harpanahalli wind farm in the State of Karnataka, in India. Under the supply contract, Vestas is to deliver, install and commission the wind turbines, and its remote performance monitoring system. Additionally, Vestas is to provide S&M services for ten years. Delivery is to begin in Q3 2010, while completion of the project is expected in Q1 2011.

CLP has about 300 MW of wind capacity in operation in India, and another 150 MW in development. Vestas has established its presence in India ten years ago, when the company opened its subsidiary there – Vestas India. So far, the company has installed more than 2.3 GW of capacity in that country.
