Gurit inaugurated its new production site of Red Maple, in Taicang, China. The new production site features advanced technology, allowing the manufacture of wind turbine blades for new generation wind turbines with up to 7 MW of capacity.

The facility is designed for the production of blade moulds. Each building is comprised of three production bays, each with overhead cranes capable of carrying 20 tons of load, while working on turbines blades for units from 1.5 MW to 7 MW. Close by are access roads and deep water ports which will allow easier loading and shipping of finished blades.

The production site is expected to become operational in autumn this year, and represents a significant boost to Gurit's production capacity.
