Iberdrola is doing a major expansion of the Whitelee wind farm (south of Glasgow, Scotland). The company is adding another 217 MW of capacity, to the already existing 322 MW installed, to reach a total of 539 MW of installed capacity at the wind farm, cementing its number one position in Europe.

Iberdrola has ordered 69 ECO 100 (3 MW) and 6 ECO 74 (1.67 MW) wind turbines from Alstom. The two companies have signed a larger deal, of which the Whitelee expansion is just a part, for a total of 250 wind turbines for nine wind projects in the UK, with a combined capacity of 500 MW. This supply deal will make Alstom one of the largest suppliers of Iberdrola.
