GE is going to be the supplier of wind turbines for nine wind energy projcets in Ontario, totalling in 650 MW of capacity. All the projects are to be fully built by 2015, when GE wind turbines will account for the overall total of 1200 MW of wind capacity on the Ontario grid.

GE sees the province's Green Energy Act as one of the major driving forces for growth in investments in the wind energy sector in Ontario. Canada has increased its installed wind capacity base tenfold in the past six years.
