Iberdrola has entered into a service and maintenance contract with the GE-Tamoin Energias Renovables consortium for a total of 400 MW of installed GE turbines in Spain. The contract is for a three year period, with an option to extend this by another two years.
The preventive maintenance will cover a total of 310 installed units across nine wind farms owned and operated by Iberdrola in Spain – Cuesta Colorada, Cerro Calderón, Cerro Palo, Muela 1, Maza, Calleja, Isabela, Sierra Quemada and Gavilanes facilities, all located in the provinces of Murcia, Cuenca and Albacete.
This maintenance agreement is the largest so far for GE in Europe. The company has partnered with Tamoin Energias Renovables, a Spanish company specialized in multi-technology wind turbine maintenance activities.
