Acciona and Aveng have been awarded the development concessions for two renewable energy projects in South Africa, as part of the second round of the international tender for RE development in this country. The projects will have a total of 209 MW of capacity.
Acciona will have a 51% stake in the projects, while its partner Aveng will own a 29% stake. The remaining 20% of ownership will be split between two social promotion entities from South Africa. One of the awarded projects is a 135.2 MW wind farm, while the other is a 94 MWp solar power plant. Both projects are to be built between 2013 and 2014.
