REC has entered into a supply contract with Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited for a total of 5 MW of its Peak Energy Series solar modules for a solar power plant under development. This project will be one of the first to benefit from the Renewable Energy Certificate Mechanism in India.

Trina Solar announced Singapore as the choice of location of the solar PV product manufacturer's regional headquarters. The new offices will serve as an administrative, sales, project development, R&D, logistics and purchasing operations center for the South East Asia and Australia regions (initially) including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Korea. Additionally, the HQ will also cover the Middle East and South Africa.

Nordex has signed four supply contracts with companies in Pakistan, for a total of 250 MW of wind turbines. This puts Nordex in the lead in the Pakistani wind market, which is still in its early stages of growth. Nordex is to deliver N100/2500 wind turbines, to be installed at five projects, each with 20 units.

China Ming Yang Wind Power (MY) has signed a development financing cooperation agreement and a planning agreement with China Development Bank (CDB), through the company's subsidiary Guangdong Ming Yang Wind Power Industry Group. CDB could support MY's strategic and financial planning with as much as USD 5 billion. This includes financing, loans and credit facilities until 2015.

Acciona has completed the installation of the Tuppahadalli wind farm in India, in Karnataka state. The 56.1 MW wind farm features Acciona's 1.65 MW wind turbines, and represents an investment of EUR 58 million.

GE Energy Financial Services and Indian renewable energy developer, Greenko, are investing into a new venture to develop wind energy across India. GE will be investing USD 50 million into this venture, marking the first wind energy investment in this wind energy market by the company. The investment will support the development of some 500 MW of wind capacity, or about a half of the total amount of capacity (1000 MW) Greenko has lined up for development in India. Greenko has commited USD 65 million as investment into this venture, and will operate through its newly established company Greenko Wind Project Private Limited.

Toshiba Corporation and Meidensha Corporation have signed a memorandum of undestanding on the formation of a business and technology alliance between the two companies, to support their respective small and medium sized hydropower plant system businesses. Under the MoU, Toshiba is to supply its hydropower turbines and provide service support, while Meidensha would be supplying generators and corresponding service support for that aspect of the collaboration.

SolarWorld and its partners have awarded the construction contract for the 8,000 ton per year silicon factory in Qatar, to Punj Lloyd Group (India), as the general contractor. The new production facility will produce silicon suitable for processing into solar wafers. SolarWorld has estabslished a joint venture agreement with Qatar Solar and the Qatar Development Bank for this project.

JinkoSolar has signed a solar module agreement for 38 MW of solar modules with China Guangdong Nuclear Solar Energy. The modules are to be used at two grid connected solar projects in Dunhuang City, in the Gansu Province and Qinghe County, in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region.
