Vestas to assemble V164 nacelles in Lindø Industrial Park

Vestas announced the choice of facility for assembling nacelles for the company's V164, advanced offshore wind turbine. The choice came down to Lindø Industrial Park, located in Denmark, where the company is going to assemble a limited number of nacelles, under a fixed period leasing agreement. The facility offers very good production and logistics capabilities, which are going to be needed for the production of a large wind turbine model such as the V164.

REpower supplying 68 MM92 turbines for Pennsylvania wind farm

REpower is to deliver and install 68 MM92 2.05 MW wind turbines at the Twin Ridges wind project being developed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania by EverPower. This will be REpower's first wind project in this US state. The wind farm's total installed capacity will be 140 MW.

Vestas to deliver 33 wind turbines for Michigan wind farm

Vestas has received an order for 33 V100-1.8 units (59 MW) from Exelon Wind. The turbines will be installed at the Harvest II Wind Project in Huron County, Michigan (USA). Once built and commissioned, the wind farm will provide clean electricty for about 18,000 average households.

Danish wind energy plans compromised with new noise regulations

Denmark has set its renewable energy goal to reach 50% of renewables in electricity supply by 2020. This goal, however, now seems to be threatened by new noise regulations which will result in nearly 20% of the planned wind turbine not getting installed. Under the new regulations, the level of acceptable noise has been lowered, requiring wind turbines to be located further away from inhabited areas.

WPD building 37 MW wind farm in Croatia

WPD (Germany) has signed an agreement to build the 36.8 MW Ponikve wind farm in Croatia, near the city of Dubrovnik. The wind farm is to feature Enercon E70 2.3 MW wind turbines, with hub heights of 64 meters and 85 meters. The project has already been granted power grid connection approval.

Nordex receives new orders for 87.5 MW of turbines

Nordex has received two new orders for wind turbines from RPM Access, for the Hawkeye windfarm located in Fayette County and the Rippey wind farm located in Green County, both in Iowa (USA). Nordex is to deliver 35 N100/2500 units for the projects.

GE is going to supply Newcom, a leading investment company in Mongolia, with advanced wind turbines for the country's first wind energy project, representing a USD 100 million investment. The location of the new wind farm is about 70 km southeast of Ulaanbaatar, the country's capital.

Gamesa sells Chestnut Flats wind farm to enXco

enXco, US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, has executed the purchase agreement for acquiring the 38 MW Chestnut Flats wind farm in Pennsylvania, USA. The project features 18 Gamesa G90 2.0 MW wind turbines, and a single G87 2.0 MW unit.

Vestas to deliver 22 wind turbines to northern Spain wind farm
