Suzlon announced three wind turbine supply deals in the past week, totalling in 76.8 MW of capacity.
The first contract is with the Malpani Group, for 19.8 MW for two new wind energy projects in the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra in India. This is the fifth order for wind turbines coming from the Malpani Group. Suzlon is to deliver 8 S88-2.1 MW units and two S82-1.5 MW units. Once installed and operational, the new capacity will increase the total installed wind capacity operated by the Malpani Group to 65 Mw.
The second deal is for the supply of 37.8 MW of wind turbines to the Serum Institute of India, also in the state of Maharashtra, for a wind energy project to be operated and maintained by Suzlon, at Jaibhim in Dhule-Nandurbar wind farm. The capacity order is comprised of 18 S88-2.1 MW units, which should be able to generate enough clean electricity to power about 8000 average households in the area.
The supply deal is for 19.2 MW of capacity or 7 S88-2.1 MW units and 3 S82-1.5 MW units, again for a wind energy project in the state of Maharashtra in the Dhule and Satara districts, where Suzlon is to set up and operate a wind farm on behalf of Siddhayu Ayurvedic Research Foundation (a Baidyanath group company).
All the supply deals are to be completed by March 2011.
