REpower and Suzlon begin joint operation in Australian market

REpower and Suzlon have begun the process of combining their operation in the Australian wind energy market. The two companies are going to continue operating under a single name – REpower Australia. The new company will be offering both REpower and Suzlon wind turbines and equipment, giving its customers a broader choice range for their wind energy projects.

Wells Fargo financing 53.5 MW solar project in New Mexico

Wells Fargo, a community based financial service company, is providing project financing a 53.5 MW multi-site solar project in New Mexico, USA. The project is being developed by SunEdison. Three of the five sites at the solar complex have been activated. The remaining two sites are expected to enter commercial operation by the end of 2011.

Ormat receives financing for Olkaria III expansion in Kenya

Ormat Technologies has received a letter of committment for USD 310 million which will be used for refinancing and expanding the Olkaria III geothermal project in Kenya. The complex currently has 48 MW of installed capacity, but this will be expanded by another 36 MW, and then optionally by another 16 MW.

REpower expanding German production facilities

KfW financing 125 MW solar project in India

KfW Entwicklungsbank is financing what's touted as the largest solar PV power plant in the world. The Shivajinagar Sakri Solar Power Plant will be built in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The state's power company, Maharashtra State Power Generation Company, MAHAGENCO, has recently issued an RFP for the first 25 MW block of the new PV facility. When fully completed, the Shivajinagar Sakri power plant will have a total of 125 MW of installed capacity.
