JA Solar has entered into a supply agreement for 19 MW of PV modules for the Allstedt I solar park in Halle, Germany. The solar park is being developed by Solarhybrid, a German renewable energy developer.

3SUN begins production at Catania plant with 160 MW annual output

3SUN, a joint venture between Enel Green Power, Sharp Electronics and STMicroelectronics, has begun production at the new PV panel facility in Catania, Italy. The new production plant for PV panels has 160 MW of annual production capacity, becoming the largest such production facility in Italy.

SunPower acquiring Tenesol – Total purchasing SunPower shares

SunPower has entered into a definitive agreement with Total for the acquisition of Tenesol, a wholly owned subsidiary of Total. SunPower is paying USD 164.5 million in cash for this acquisition, while at the same time Total will purchase 18.6 million shares of SunPower common stock. Once Tenesol is in ownership of SunPower, Total will own about 66% of SunPower's common shares.

Vestas to deliver 52 MW of turbines for El Gallo wind farm in Spain

Vestas has received an order for 52 MW of wind turbines, 26 V90-2.0 MW units, for the El Gallo wind farm in Burgos, northern Spain. This is a turnkey project which means Vestas will deliver, install and commission the 26 units for the client CyL Energía Eólica SLU.

China Three Gorges and EDP enter strategic partnership

China Three Gorges and EDP have entered into a strategic partnership, as the Portuguese government approved the purchase of a 21.35% stake in EDP by the largest Chinese clean energy group. The two companies will combine resources in order to become global leaders in renewable energy production.

ENEOP executes EIB project finance structure for 376 MW of wind capacity in Portugal

ENEOP (Eólicas de Portugal), a consortium of several companies, including Enel Green Power, which holds a 40% stake, has executed a project finance structure with the European Investment Bank (EIB). The financing is for the second batch of wind farms to be developed in Portugal by ENEOP, totalling in 376 MW of new wind capacity.

E.ON expanding Waldeck 2 pumped storage facility

E.ON has been given the green light to expand the Waldeck 2 pumped storage power plant in Edertal/Hemfurth, Germany. The company will buid another underground power station cavern, witha a 300 MW pump turbine. The company announced plans to expand capacity at Waldeck 2 almost exactly a year ago.

REC supplying GP Joule with 60 MW of modules France/Germany projects
