Chevrolet announced recently the company is planning to invest USD 40 million in various clean energy projects across the United States. The company, catching a lot of buzz in the past months due to its Chevy Volt electric car, is pursuing an initiative to promote energy savings, renewable energy, and responsible use of natural resources.

First Wind announced the start of construction on the extension project at the Milford wind farm in Utah. Milford Phase 2, or Milford II, will add another 102 MW of capacity to the existing 204 MW already installed in late 2009. The extension will provide clean power for about 22,000 average homes, and will feature 68 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines.
Solar Millenium announced the company has received permits for two solar power projects, each to have 250 MW of installed capacity, to be developed in the Amargosa Valley, in Nevada, US. The US Secretary of Interior, Ken Salazar, signed the right of way grant for the two projects, guaranteeing Solar Millenium the right to develop the projects. The permitting process is not complete, however, but the received grant was one of the necessary preconditions to proceed with further planning of the project.
