
enXco, US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, has executed the purchase agreement for acquiring the 38 MW Chestnut Flats wind farm in Pennsylvania, USA. The project features 18 Gamesa G90 2.0 MW wind turbines, and a single G87 2.0 MW unit.

Vestas has received two orders for wind turbines from First Wind, for a total of 139 MW of capacity (77 V100-1.8 MW units). First Wind will be using the turbines at the 104.4 MW Palouse wind farm (Whitman County, Washington) and the 34.2 MW Bull Hill wind farm (Hancock County, Maine).

Gestamp Renewables has dedicated the 50 MW Roth Rock wind farm in Garret County, Maryland (USA). The wind farm features 20 Nordex 2.5 MW wind turbines.

SunPower has begun designing a 13.8 MW PV power system which is to be installed at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, in California. The ground-breaking event is to take place soon. The project is expected to generate about 30% of the facility's annual electrical energy load, once completed. The Navy will be purchasing generated power under a 20-year PPA, so there are no initial expenses.

Soitec Solar Development has received approval for power purchase agreements for a total of 155 MW of concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) installations in the San Diego area, California. The approval from the California Public Utilities Commission is for five projects using Soitec's Concentrix technology.

RES has announced the completion of the Greenwich Wind Energy Project, located on the northern shores of Lake Superior, in the Canadian province of Ontario. The project has 99 MW of installed capacity, and represents a USD 275 million investment.

enXco Service Corporation, part of EDF Energies Nouvelles, has signed an operation & maintenance agreement with PacifiCorp for six wind farms, totalling in 456 MW of installed capacity. The projects are located in Oregon and Wyoming.

REpower and EDF Energies Nouvelles Canada have entered into a contract for the supply and installation of wind turbines at the 150 MW Massif du Sud wind farm in Quebec. The order is the third in a series under a framework agreement reached between the companies in late 2009, which covers up to 954 MW of MM82 and MM92 units.

Caterpillar and Vestas have entered into an agreement under which Caterpillar is granted the right to remanufacture Vestas wind turbines during a ten year period. Caterpillar will provide the Danish wind turbine manufacturer with cost-effectie remanufacturing services, while maintaining a high level of quality and reliability.

First Solar will build, operate and maintain the 66 MW Alpine solar project in Lancaster, California, on behalf of NRG Energy, the developer of the project. The power plant already has a secured PPA for a 20-year period with Pacific Gas and Electric.
