JA Solar enters into supplemental agreement with GCL-Poly for 10 GW over five years

JA Solar announced the company has entered into a supplemental supply agreement with GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, for the supply of 10 GW of wafers and polysilicon over a period of five years. The supplies are to start from January 2011, and are to be concluded by December 2015.

Yingli Green Energy bags solar orders from Gold Sun Program in China

Yingli Green Energy (Yingli Solar) announced the company has been chosen as a major solar PV supplier for the Gold Sun Program in China. The Gold Sun Program, sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Finance, was announced to require a total of 272 MW of PV projects, of which Yingli Solar is to supply about 70% of the PV modules.

Far East Wind Power developing 300 MW wind farm in Inner Mongolia

Far East Wind Power, a company involved in the development of wind energy in Asia, announced it has entered into a binding letter of intent (LoI) with Tianlanhengfeng Electrical Power Corporation of Hohhot (TEPCH), to build a 300 MW wind farm in Wulatehou Qi, Inner Mongolia, China.

Yingli Solar secures 1 GW of future PV module contracts

Yingli Solar announced the company has secured about 1 GW of PV solar module orders for 2011. This estimate is based on the aggregate orders with 2011 as the year of delivery. The estimated amount of capacity exceeds the company's sales target. Most of the customers under the contracts involved in this large batch of orders have been requested to pay in advance, in order to make sure delivery will be on schedule in 2011.

Mingyang Wind Power to supply turbine for offshore wind farm in Beibu Gulf

Mingyang Wind Power (Guangdong Mingyang Wind Power Industry Group), a wind turbine manufacturer from China, has signed a supply agreement for 200 MW of wind turbines with a Chinese independent power producer, for an offshore wind farm to be developed in tidal flat areas in the Beiby Gulf.

Vestas bags 33 MW order from India

Vestas announced an order for 33 MW (20 V82-1.65 MW units) from India, for the Vellappaneri wind farm in the state of Tamil Nadu. The company is to deliver, install and commission the V82 units, as well as provide its remote monitoring solution, and honor a 10-year S&M agreement. First deliveries are to start in Q4 2010, while the wind farm is expected to be completed in Q2 2011.

ADB enters JV for renewable energy development in India

Nordex to deliver 45 MW to Turkey

Wacker and Dow Corning inaugurate integrated silicone plant in China

Wacker and Dow Corning have officially inaugurated an integrated silicone manufacturing plant in Zhangjiagang, China. The new plant, representing an USD 1.8 billion combined investments, will produce silicone for use in various growing industries in China, including the power generation and distribution and production of silicon-based solar cells. The facility includes a siloxane plant and a pyrogenic silica plant.
