Thermax and Amonix have signed an agreement for offering Amonix' concentracted photovoltaic (CPV) technology to the Indian solar market. Amonix will provide Thermax with CPV modules and the technology for building CPV power plants. Thermax will be doing EPC activities, and provide turnkey solutions to customers in India.

Vestas received an order for 92 MW of wind turbines from an undisclosed customer in the Asia Pacific region. The order is comprised of 51 V100-1.8 MW wind turbines, which should be delivered during Q3 2011.

China Ming Yang Wind Power (Ming Yang) has signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Guangdong Yudean Xuwen Wind Power for the 48 MW offshore wind farm in Zhaijiang, Guangdong Province, China. The project has been approved from the provincial development and reform committee and is ready to enter construction phase.

Alstom has been awarded three contracts for hydropower development in India, totalling 293 MW of capacity, the company announced recently. The total value of all the contracts is about EUR 40 million.

As part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission to increase the amount of installed solar capacity in India, Tata BP Solar has received an order for a 5 MW solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh, India. The company will be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the project. The solar plant project is owned by the Electrical Manufacturing Company from Kolkata.

GE is to supply 10 1.6 MW wind turbines for the first phase of the Bac Lieu Wind Farm being developed in the Bac Lieu province, in the Mekong Delta area of Vietnam. The first phase, with 16 MW of installed capacity, is to be followed by the sceond phase of the project, which will add up to 120 MW more capacity to the project.
