
Vestas has received an order for 32 V112-3.0 MW wind turbines (96 MW in total), from Swedish wind energy developer Stena Renewable AB. The units will be installed in the Vetlanda Municipality, starting in August 2012.

Vattenfall will be taking part in an innovative project to store wind energy as hydrogen gas, which can later be used to generate electricity and heat. The new hybrid power plant, the core of the project, is located north of Berlin, Germany, and will be the first such facility in Europe.

Enel Green Power has added a new solar park to its solar portfolio in Sicily. The power plant is near Barrafranca, in the Enna Province, Sicily. It has 5 MW of installed capacity, featuring 20,000 solar panels.

SCHOTT Solar and Statdtwerke Mainz are building a 5.6 MW solar park in Southern Harz, Germany. The power plant will feature 24,000 modules, and should enter commercial operation by the end of the year.

Enel Green Power has been awarded the maximum allowed amount of concessions under the terms of the solar energy tender by Difesa Servizi, allocated from military land for PV installations. Two lots have been awarded to EGP, providing room and conitions for the development of up to 60 MW of PV capacity. The lots cover about 190 hectares of land, and offer high solar radiation conditions.
