Iberdrola signs maintenance agreement with GE and Tamoin

Iberdrola has entered into a service and maintenance contract with the GE-Tamoin Energias Renovables consortium for a total of 400 MW of installed GE turbines in Spain. The contract is for a three year period, with an option to extend this by another two years.

Alstom and RusHydro begin construction of new hydropower equipment plant in Bashkortostan

Alstom and RusHydro have begun construction of the new manufacturing plant in Bashkortostan. The joint venture project, with a total investment of about EUR 125 million, is 51% owned by RusHydro, and 49% owned by Alstom, under the name JSC AlstomRusHydroEnergy.

RWE building 39 MW wind farm in Poland

Suntech and Krannich Solar in 120 MW supply deal

Suntech Power has signed a sales agreement with Krannich Solar under which Suntech is to delivery a total of 120 MW of solar panels during 2012. The two companies will continue to supply solar equipment to resellers and installers in the European and Australian solar market.

China Ming Yang Wind Power announced the company super compact drive (SCD) MY-3.0 MW wind turbine has received LVRT certification, after having passed low voltage ride through performance tests.

Vestas in service agreement for 268 MW of wind capacity in Italy

Vestas has entered into an agreement with ERG Renew S.p.A. for service and maintenance of ten wind farms in Italy, totalling in 268 MW of installed capacity. The Danish company is to provide its services for a period of 15 years.

REC sells 6 MW solar facility in Germany

REC Systems, business unit of REC, has sold its 6 MW solar power plant in Bitterfeld, Germany, to two investment companies, part of the Chorus Group. The project was originally developed by GrĂ¼ne Energien (Germany), but REC took full ownership of the project in autumn 2011, with more than 50% of the project left incomplete.

RWE granted permission for first stage of Innogy Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm

RWE announced the company has been granted permission for the construction of the first development stage of the Innogy Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm, located in the North Sea, about 40 km north of the island of Juist. The whole project will have three stages, totalling in 160 installed turbines, with the estimated installed capacity of about 1000 megawatts.

First trial run for GE 4.1 MW offshore unit proves successful

GE's offshore 4.1 MW wind turbine has had its first trial run in Gothenburg Harbor, Sweden. The trial, which lasted 200 hours, resulted in 99.05% availability, with wind speeds varying from zero to rated wind speeds. The capacity factor achieved was 35.3 percent.

Iberdrola commissions 178 MW wind farm in Italy

Iberdrola recently commissioned the Messina-Argento wind farm complex in Sicily, Italy. The project has a total of 178 MW of installed capacity, becoming one of the largest operational wind projects in Italy. The project was jointly developed by API Nova Energia and Iberdrola.
