Total, ParisTech and Ecole Polytechnique have introduced a new international degree for post graduate studies called Renewable Energy Science & Technology Master II. The educational program is sponsored by EDF, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Saint-Gobain and Schneider Electric.
EDF and ESKOM (South African electricity utility) have signed a memorandum of understanding for founding an institute in South Africa, which will be dedicated to training South African engineers in thermal energy and renewable energy disciplines. The institute will be called EPPEI (ESKOM Power Plant Engineering Institute). The MoU was signed between representatives of the two companies, during the State Visit of South African's President Jacob Zuma to France.
The Swedish Wind Power Technology Center (SVTC), an institution founded to support the wind industry in Sweden, has been granted SEK 100 million in funding (about EUR 11 million) from the Swedish Energy Agency, the industry and Chalmers.
