Gamesa in 200 MW supply deal for Egypt's wind projects

Gamesa has won the supply contract for a total of 200 MW of wind turbines, to be installed at wind farm projects in the Gulf of El-Zayt, on Egypt's Red Sea coast. The contract was awarded by the New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) of Egypt, after a public tender.

Vestas to deliver 52 MW of turbines for El Gallo wind farm in Spain

Vestas has received an order for 52 MW of wind turbines, 26 V90-2.0 MW units, for the El Gallo wind farm in Burgos, northern Spain. This is a turnkey project which means Vestas will deliver, install and commission the 26 units for the client CyL Energía Eólica SLU.

ENEOP executes EIB project finance structure for 376 MW of wind capacity in Portugal

ENEOP (Eólicas de Portugal), a consortium of several companies, including Enel Green Power, which holds a 40% stake, has executed a project finance structure with the European Investment Bank (EIB). The financing is for the second batch of wind farms to be developed in Portugal by ENEOP, totalling in 376 MW of new wind capacity.

EDP Renováveis awarded PPAs for 120 MW of wind generated electricity

EDP Renováveis' subsidiary in Brazil, EDP Renováveis Brasil, has been awarded four 20-year power purchase agreements at the A-5 auction about a week ago. The PPAs are for a total of 120 MW of electrical power generated at four wind farms, which are to be developed in Rio Grande do Norte, a state in Brazil.

Iberdrola gets Federal approval for Tule wind farm in California

Iberdrola Renewables has been given approval by the US Department of Interior for the development of the Tule wind farm in California. The approval is for the part of the project that will sit on federal lands, and is also the first of five approvals for "priority" wind projects in California that have been proposed for public lands.

Iberdrola and Gamesa sign wind turbine supply and maintenance deal

Iberdrola and Gamesa Eólica have signed a new wind turbine supply and maintenance framework agreement, which effectively extends the companies' current collaboration until 2022. The new agreement takes into account the current market situation and creates a more stable framework environment for both companies.

Acciona commissions 38 MW wind farm in Poland

Nordex completes first N117 installation

Nordex has successfully installed the first N117 wind turbine, since the announcement of the new onshore unit at EWEA in Brussels, earlier in 2011. The new unit has 2.4 MW of capacity, and is aimed at the onshore wind energy market.

The Crown Estate launches leasing rounds for offshore and tidal in Northern Ireland

The Crown Estate has opened Northern Ireland for tidal and offshore wind energy rounds. Developers are invited to bid for development leases for up to 800 MW of capacity in waters of the coast of Northern Ireland, pushing this region's offshore renewable energy industry forward.
