EDP Renováveis awarded PPAs for 120 MW of wind generated electricity

EDP Renováveis' subsidiary in Brazil, EDP Renováveis Brasil, has been awarded four 20-year power purchase agreements at the A-5 auction about a week ago. The PPAs are for a total of 120 MW of electrical power generated at four wind farms, which are to be developed in Rio Grande do Norte, a state in Brazil.

Iberdrola gets Federal approval for Tule wind farm in California

Iberdrola Renewables has been given approval by the US Department of Interior for the development of the Tule wind farm in California. The approval is for the part of the project that will sit on federal lands, and is also the first of five approvals for "priority" wind projects in California that have been proposed for public lands.

E.ON expanding Waldeck 2 pumped storage facility

E.ON has been given the green light to expand the Waldeck 2 pumped storage power plant in Edertal/Hemfurth, Germany. The company will buid another underground power station cavern, witha a 300 MW pump turbine. The company announced plans to expand capacity at Waldeck 2 almost exactly a year ago.

Iberdrola and Gamesa sign wind turbine supply and maintenance deal

Canadian Solar and TransCanada in 86 MW solar capacity sales agreement

Bahrain establishing a renewable energy agency?

ReneSola connects 20 MW solar facility in China to grid
